RIKO: A FAMILY RUN WINERY

Bodegas Riko is the 4th generation of a project whose origins date back to 1921. The winery is located in Xaló, in the heart of the Vall de Pop Valley, in the Marina Alta region, north of Alicante. Our philosophy is very clear: producing honest and vibrant wines with minimal processing by respecting, above all, the local variety. Our wines reflect the subtlety and character of the land. It all begins in the vineyards, the backbone of our project, based on a circular economy: organic, sustainable, artisanal and family run farming with local varieties. There are a total of 13 hectares of local varieties, with an average age of over 40 years, planted in bush-type vines and cultivated under strict dry farming. The local varieties stand out: Moscatell for the white wine and Giró for the red one.

We seek subtle, fresh, and gentle wines, that are produced following sustainable criteria. They are true expressions of our terroir. We are proud of our past, passionate about our present, and excited about the future.

As part of our family project, based on over 100 years of experience, Oscar Mestre's project was devised in 2018. He contributes his vision and personality to innovation and keeps on moving forward so that nothing changes.
