RIKO: A FAMILY RUN WINERY

Bodegas Riko represents the fourth generation of a project whose origins date back to 1921. The winery is located in Xaló, right in the heart of the Vall de Pop Valley, in the Marina Alta region of northern Alicante. Our philosophy is very clear: to craft honest wines with soul and minimal processing, respecting the grape variety above all else to convey the subtlety and character of the land. Everything begins in the vineyards—the cornerstone of our project—with work based on a circular economy: organic, sustainable, and artisanal farming of local varieties, run as a family.

We cultivate a total of 13 hectares of native varieties with an average age of over 40 years, grown as bush vines under strict dry-farming conditions. Our local varieties stand out: Moscatell grape variety for whites and Giró variety for red wines.

We aim to create subtle, fresh, and approachable wines, sustainably produced to be true expressions of our terroir.

We are proud of our past, passionate about our present, and excited for the future.

Within the family project, drawing on over 100 years of experience, Oscar Mestre launched his own venture in 2018. He brings his vision and personality to innovate and keep moving forward, ensuring that nothing changes.

Additionally, the winery offers wine tours of both the cellars and the vineyards, which include a tasting of eight wines.
